Iman El Zeky : French interior designer & Worldwide projects
As a child, interior designer Iman El Zeky was exposed to many different countries and cultures. Born in Paris, to a Colombian mother and Egyptian father, her interiors reflect her multicultural heritage, sense of adventure, and passion for travel, art, and culture.
At a young age, she trained as a classical pianist, honing a sensitivity for aesthetic harmony that translates beautifully to interior design.
Before graduating with a degree in interior design and launching Iman El Zeky Studio in Hong Kong, she worked as a brand director in the luxury fashion and lifestyle industry. This helped her develop a keen eye for detail, and a talent for storytelling that enables her to guide her clients on a collaborative creative journey with empathy and confidence.
El Zeky counts French home décor legend Madeleine Castaing, avant-garde designer Charlotte Perriand, and Mexican colour block architect Luis Barragán as some of her greatest influences.
Working with a wide network of artists and craftspeople, El Zeky’s interiors are filled with bespoke furniture, carefully selected objects, one-of-a-kind vintage pieces, and art that complement her clients’ personalities and lifestyles.
El Zeky’s mission is to turn every project she undertakes into an experiential journey, a symphony of memories and emotions that uplifts the soul.
The Studio : Interior design from Paris to Hong Kong
The Studio works on both residential and commercial commissions and has completed projects in Hong Kong, Paris, and Greece.
Weaving together different cultural and aesthetic influences, the Studio creates atmospheric, dynamic interiors that express the owner’s personality or a company’s brand’s values. Guiding her clients through the design process, El Zeky helps her clients to discern their lifestyle preferences and aspirations, then develops a design narrative based on their needs and desires. The results are original, experiential spaces that evoke a sense of joy.
Bringing together materials and motifs from different parts of the world, and mixing the vintage and contemporary, interiors by Iman El Zeky Studio each have a distinctive look that defies classification.
Attention to detail and the celebration of outstanding art guide El Zeky’s design philosophy, so the Studio always works with established furniture makers, craftspeople, and artisans to create one-of-a-kind décor and tailor-made solutions for its clients. The Studio also champions emerging talent by sourcing and commissioning work by new artists and craftspeople from around the world exclusively for her projects.
“Every project I work on with my client is a unique narrative. It is important that we build trust every step of the way so we can take daring risks, go beyond the known, and create spaces that are timeless, personal, and inspiring,” says El Zeky.
